Hi, I'm Lindsay and I have a problem. I am a student living on a budget who                                                                                  loves all things food. My solution? This blog. Welcome to my Student Food                                                                                    Blog- Craven’s

I am a current student at Western University; I study media, writing, and all                                                                                  that jazz, but I have always had a passion for cooking. I live in Ontario,                                                                                          Canada and I am creating this website for a school project. I balance                                                                                              homework, class, a social life, volunteering at the local food bank, and of                                                                                      course- sleeping (the most important of all). If everything goes well I may                                                                                      continue the website after school too :). I have an appetite for almost anything and will try any food once! The craziest thing I think I have ever had would be Kangaroo in Australia. Personally, I have no favourtie type of cuisine.

I love German, Italian, Korean, American, Japanese, India, and Chinese food. I find that each genre of food signifies a different special occasion for me. Italian food goes with a fancy dinner in my mind, where Chinese food represents an â€˜I have no food in the house so I might as well order Chinese’ moment. I’m sure we all different views on what food means to us.  I would say I love Canadian but I personally do not believe we have a type of cuisine other than poutine and maple syrup. I l-o-v-e carbs in any shape and form, but am looking to post recipes for students looking to stay away from just the classic pasta and pizza dishes. I may throw in a hearty pasta here and there, but I want to keep it healthy for you guys! I mostly stick with chicken and pork for my protein and tend to eat relatively well, but man am I a sucker for chips (my favourties include ruffles all dressed, Lays ketchup, and Miss Vickie’s malt vinegar). I also love myself a good salted caramel or dark chocolate. My ALL TIME favourite dessert is a good macaroon.

This is a blog with simple and fast recipes, for students (or anyone!). I choose to tailor my blog to students because I know how hard it is to want to make something tasty, healthy, and delicious for dinner, that does not have an extensive ingredient list and takes a long time to cook. It can be frustrating, and sometimes you do want to treat yourself and make homemade lasagna, but for the nights when you want something fast, yet different, hit up this blog!

My go to technique is cooking a big dinner, like a casserole, and freezing portions of it for the up coming weeks/months! This way you get the homemade taste with only having to cook it once- what could be better? For more of my tips and tricks check out this page.

If you cook any of the recipes, let me know how it turns out in the comment section below the recipe.

Anyways, that is just a little about myself, and I hope you enjoy cooking and eating the food as much as I do!

Thanks for visiting! Enjoy and I hope it satisfies all your craven’s :P!
